Analysis of my Bohemian forebears using my DNA matches
MyHeritage indicates that I share 52.1cM DNA over 4 segments with a woman living in Germany. No public tree is accessible so I have evaluated the public trees of our shared matches. This evaluation indicates ancestors of our shared matches lived in Bohemia (now part of Czechia).
My great grandmother, Anna Wolf, and her mother left Bohemia in 1876 and travelled to South Australia on the Cesar Godeffroy.
As MyHeritage estimates that we are 4th cousins, I provide details of my Bohemian forebears to that generation.
Anna Wolf was the daughter of Joseph Wolf (1831 – 1875) and Maria Anna Fleischmann (1834 – 1915) who were married in 1862 at Morchenstern (now Smržovka).
Joseph Wolf was the son of Franz Wolf and Theresia Zappe (1800 – ?) who were married at Grünwald, Gablonz.
Maria Anna Fleischmann was the daughter of Augustin Fleischmann (1783 – 1855) and Maria Anna Rößler (1800 – 1881).
The public trees of our shared matches show the surnames Havlicek, Lang, Urbánek and Wagner in at least 2 of our matches and living in the Gablonz district of Bohemia, where my ancestors lived. So far, I have not found how they connect with my public tree. But I will continue to search.
Having your trees public with your DNA matches makes such analysis easier.
